Privacy and cookies
This notice explains what information How Are You? receives through this website, why it is used and the choices available to you.
Who is responsible
How Are You? is the independent spatial design practice of Jack Howard, based in Cork, Ireland. Jack Howard is responsible for the personal information described in this notice.
For privacy questions or requests, email hello@howareyou.studio.
Information collected
If you use the contact form, the site receives your name, email address and the message you choose to send. Formspree processes and delivers the submission. It may also process limited technical information for security and abuse prevention.
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate visits, popular pages, referral sources, device types and website performance. It is not used to build advertising profiles.
GitHub Pages, which hosts the website, may process standard technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect the site.
Why the information is used
Contact details and messages are used to read and respond to enquiries, discuss possible work and maintain necessary correspondence. This is based on taking steps at your request before a possible agreement, or the legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact the studio.
Limited technical and aggregate information is used to operate, secure and improve the website. It is not sold and is not used for targeted advertising.
Services used by the site
- Formspree processes contact-form submissions.
- GitHub Pages hosts and delivers the website.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate, cookie-free website statistics.
- Local font files supply the site typeface without contacting an external font service.
- Google Drive supplies the film player only after you choose to load it.
- Adobe/Behance hosts some portfolio images displayed on the site.
These providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where required, they state that they use recognised transfer safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses. Their own privacy notices explain their practices in more detail.
Cookies
How Are You? does not currently set non-essential cookies or use local storage to track visitors. Cloudflare Web Analytics states that it does not use cookies, local storage or fingerprinting to collect its usage metrics, so the site does not display a cookie-consent banner.
The homepage uses temporary session storage to remember that its opening animation has already played in the current browser tab. This is used only for that interface preference and is not used to identify or follow visitors.
The Google Drive film player is not loaded until you actively press its play button. Google may then use cookies or similar technologies under its own policies. If the tracking used by this site changes, this notice and the consent controls will be updated where required.
How long information is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to a project are normally deleted within 24 months of the last meaningful contact. Records connected with clients, collaborators or completed work may be retained for longer where needed for contracts, accounts, legal obligations or legitimate business records.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, transfer or object to its use. You may also complain to the Data Protection Commission.
To make a request, email hello@howareyou.studio. You may be asked for enough information to verify that the request relates to you.
Copyright and corrections
Project material remains the property of its respective rights holders. Where work was made with other people or organisations, credit is given where appropriate. If you believe an image, credit or project detail needs to be corrected, please contact the studio.
